Lynn CV

Lynn Froggett is Professor of Psychosocial Research and Director of the trans-disciplinary Institute for Citizenship, Society and Change at the University of Central Lancashire. Her own background spans the Humanities and Social Sciences with arts and wellbeing as a major focus of her research. She has led numerous projects in the cultural sector, health, welfare and communities attempting to account for how the arts contribute to personal and societal well-being. She is currently interested in the role of the arts in promoting civility and social solidarity and for this she uses sensory and visual methods that she has developed to capture aesthetic engagement. Her work is international in scope: In Australia researching the importance for civil society of ‘third spaces’ where art, science and the public meet; in the UK, the use of dance/theatre in prisons and in North East India how people engage with culture in for sustainable sustainable living. Lynn is Executive Chair of a Learned Society: The Association for Psychosocial Studies and a Fellow of the UK Academy of Social Sciences.
