What is Sibelius Summer Academy?

Sibelius Summer Academy is a summer study program offered by the Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki in Finland. It offers young talents a chance to work and perform together with world-class teachers, artists and other students in an encouraging and inspiring international environment with state-of-the-art facilities. Sibelius Summer Academy is supported by the Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation and the Wihuri Foundation.

There are still some limited places available in the Sibelius Summer Academy Woodwind course in June

All participants from outside the Sibelius Academy will get 3x45 min. individual lessons. On flute and clarinet, one with each teacher. In oboe, mr. Dominik Wollenweber will give half of the lessons and Sibelius Academy teachers Veera Pesu and Anni Haapaniemi the other half. Bassoon teachers Dag Jensen and Jussi Särkkä will divide their responsibilities equally. Professor Jensen is coming with the generous contribution from the Norwegian Academy of Music. Same applies to saxophone teachers Claude Delangle and Joonatan Rautiola.

All lessons will have an outstanding pianist and you can listen to all masterclasses and daily concerts. You will get an opportunity to perform yourself in our concerts in the center of Helsinki.

Main venue will be our world class facilities in the Musiikkitalo, but the plan is to add some interesting new buildings nearby.
