Brass at Sibelius Summer Academy 1.-6.6.2020

Brass instrumentalists are invited to Helsinki for an intensive education and concert event in June 2020 – join us for an international atmosphere with peer students and a world-renowned faculty from the Sibelius Academy and abroad! The course is intended for professional brass students or instrumentalists possessing equivalent skills.

December 19th to February 15th 2020

The Sibelius Academy brass faculty will select the participants according to applications.

Course fee

The courses are free of charge for degree students of University of the Arts, registered as 'attending' or the academic year 2019-2020 including Doctoral degree students.


Course fee (300€) includes:

  • 5 x 30 minutes of individual tuition. Tuition is offered as open master classes and they are open to other participants and the general public to follow. After being accepted to the course, the participants will be able to choose their teachers of choice. All students will get tuition from at least two teachers of their instrument, some limitations may apply. Specific instructions for this are sent to the accepted students after the application period ends.
  • Daily Pilates lessons
  • Lessons on performance coaching
  • Performance possibilities in pop- up concerts where course participants can perform their repertoire
  • Free admission to the daily concerts by the teaching faculty
  • Social interaction with other course participants
