Woodwinds 1st to 8th June 2019
Internationally renowned woodwind teachers and the esteemed teachers of the Sibelius Academy, Uniarts Helsinki combine their forces teaching master classes for all woodwind instruments as a part of the Sibelius Summer Academy from 1st until 8th June 2019. The program aims to bring together gifted woodwinds students from all over the world to get inspiration, top-level education and unique performance opportunities in one of the world’s leading music universities.

All participants from outside the Sibelius Academy will get minimum 3x45 min individual lessons. On flute and clarinet, one with each teacher. In oboe, mr. Dominik Wollenweber will give half of the lessons and Sibelius Academy teachers Veera Pesu and Anni Haapaniemi the other half. Bassoon teachers Dag Jensen and Jussi Särkkä will divide their responsibilities equally. Same applies to saxophone teachers Claude Delangle and Joonatan Rautiola.
All lessons will have an outstanding pianist and you can listen to all masterclasses and daily concerts.
There will also be a cadenza composing workshop taught by pianist Iiro Rantala. Students interested in the subject will be able to sign up for the workshop.
Students will have daily performing opportunities in the Helsinki Music Centre and in other venues in its proximity.
Professor Jensen is coming with the generous contribution from the Norwegian Academy of Music.
Woodwind concerts and matinées 1.-8.6.2019
The Sibelius Summer Academy woodwind week offers a wide variety of fabulous concerts in the Helsinki Music Centre but also in the neighbouring central library Oodi. Most of the events are free admission!
