Woodwind concerts and matinées 1.-8.6.2019

The Sibelius Summer Academy woodwind week offers a wide variety of fabulous concerts in the Helsinki Music Centre but also in the neighbouring central library Oodi. Most of the events are free admission!

The concerts heard during the Woodwinds course are arranged with the kind support of Pro Musica Foundation.

Internationally acclaimed Hungarian organist Balázs Szabó gives a recital on the Baroque organ at Janakkala Church.

 

Organ Academy: Matinee at the Old Church

Students of the Organ Academy perform a short selection of organ music at noon.

At five o’clock, everything stops for organ music with students on the Organ Academy course.

 

Organ Academy: Peter Krasinski – improvised music to a silent film
Tue 6 Aug at 8 p.m., Mikael Agricola Church, Tehtaankatu 23, Helsinki, admission free

Organist Peter Krasinski from the USA specialises in accompanying silent films. At Mikael Agricola Church he performs an improvised score to a silent film.

Organ Academy: Concluding matinee

Students of the Organ Academy perform works studied on the course and improvised accompaniments to scenes from silent films.
